I totally agree. Parents naturally would worry about any medical treatment their child receives and it’s a legitimate concern that medical intervention such as this could be detrimental to a child in the long run. It’s getting to a stage where parents must comply otherwise there will be consequences such as referrals to social work classifying parents as safeguarding risks (like the recent case in East Renfrewshire). Identifying parents as safeguarding risks allow the state to intervene and I would not be surprised if this will be a commonly used excuse to interfere in the family life. It is absolutely terrifying
